Narconon Drug Rehabs Prepare for Recovery Month

This September marks the 20th celebration for National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month

SAFETY HARBOR, FL, August 28, 2009 /Parenting PR News/ -- At a time where a lot of national media attention is focused on the turmoil of health care reform, there is a bright spot illuminating the drug and alcohol rehab field. National Recovery Month is an annual observance that supports treatment and rehabilitation practices throughout the country with emphasis on success.

The Narconon drug rehabilitation and education program has been demonstrating this success for more than 40 years and works to restore individuals and families negatively affected by addiction. Where it stands above most is that it proves that permanent recovery from substance abuse is possible and that relapse does not have to be a part of the process.

The Recovery Month observance highlights the societal benefits of substance abuse treatment, lauds the contributions of treatment providers and promotes the message that recovery from substance abuse in all its forms is possible. The observance also encourages citizens to take action to help expand and improve the availability of effective substance abuse treatment for those in need. Each year a new theme, or emphasis, is selected for the observance. The theme for 2009 is "Together We Learn, Together We Heal."

Each year Narconon centers join the celebration with other treatment professionals across the nation to support each other in the common purpose of helping people to put addiction behind themselves forever to restore self respect, responsibility and happiness. The result is strengthened individuals, families and communities.

Narconon has more than 140 programs worldwide with about two dozen education groups and rehabilitation centers in the United States. With a success rate of over 70% for helping people end addiction, Narconon attributes its results to the application of the drug-free rehabilitation methods developed by the late American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard.
