In addition to being a potential allergen, metal fillings expand and contract with temperature changes within the mouth. This can eventually cause them to fall out, often taking part of the tooth with them, and leading to more dental work being required.
Allergies to medications and chemicals common in dental offices can be avoided by giving your dentist a list of your allergens. This will allow your dentist to tailor a solution to your particular needs, while still allowing them to provide you with necessary dental procedures.
